Does the thought of someone stepping into your creative space make you want to quietly close the door and hope they don't ask what's behind it?

Hi, my name is Amanda, I am your friendly neighborhood craft lady! I am so happy you stopped by! Pull up a chair and let's chat about that crafty chaos we don't want anyone to see.
I have a secret to share.
Ready?
I am a messy crafter
(cue dramatic horror music)
I have bins of supplies
A box filled with unfinished projects
Tiny pieces of paper that look like a chicken scratched out their ideas for a new coop!
Just yesterday I spent 10 minutes trying to find measurements I had just written down, because I couldn't remember where I had written it.
Is any of this sounding familiar?
If this is ringing any bells for you, then I want you to know something.
You are not lazy.
You are not failing.
You are not the only one.
Life has a funny way of barging in on our creative plans.
We start our day, coffee in one hand and our battle plan in the other, ready to conquer that ever growing to-do list.
Then the kids need our attention
Our partner loses their sock for the 5th time this morning ( it's 9 am)
The dog is barking at that invisible intruder who will harm us all again.
Dinner needs to be planned.
You look at the clock and the day is quickly slipping away from you.
My Friend... I've been there more times than I can count.
I start my days with the best of intentions.
Suddenly, I am washing dishes.
Folding Laundry.
Letting the dogs in, letting the dogs out. ( rinse and repeat)
Making lunch, Making a snack, Washing more dishes.
Do you see where I am going with this?
Before I know it, I feel so overwhelmed by everything that needs my attention, I don't even know where to begin anymore.
That's when those little thoughts come creeping in...
"What's the point of starting anything now?'
"You might as well sit on the couch and try again tomorrow."
"Maybe tomorrow will be less busy."
Then tomorrow comes
It looks an awful lot like today.
More laundry.
Dogs are barking again.
Dishes, phone calls, hide and seek with the missing sock.
Another day has slipped through our fingers.
Another unfinished project, patiently waiting for us to return.
Can I tell you something that I've been learning?
Creativity doesn't require a perfect day.
It doesn't require a spotless, Pinterest ready craft room!
Sometimes all it needs....
is fifteen quiet minutes.
One Card.
One unfinished project rescued from the dark bin under your desk.
Case in Point... I had to stop writing this blog post because the washing machine was calling my name.
I am a real person.
Living a real life.
Just like you.
Distractions, obligations, appointments, the list goes on and on.
Life does not stop when we want to create.
We need to have the right tools in our battle plan to make those crafty ideas come to life!
So Come with me to my Craft Table.. Pull up a chair and we will take that crafty pile you can never get to, and turn it into finished projects that you can be proud of!
Think of me as your crafty God Mother.
All it takes is a sprinkle of organization, a dash of time management, a pinch of grace when life gets messy and before you know it those unfinished projects find their way to the finish line!

We are not chasing perfection here.
We're making room for creativity... One project at a time.
